I added the HTML5 build last minute! The game was made 100% for desktop, will probably run better, and will include all (lightweight) shaders! Please give the desktop version a try if you run into any issues with the web version. Thank you! :)

Story

A century after Ada Elliot escapes the prison satellite and returns to Earth, she embarks to continue her mission to reclaim “stolen” androids in order to reprogram them to fight for humanity once again. A lone salvaged android, Rho, has been sent on a mission to find the missing android, Pomelo. However, her mission won't be as simple as she would hope.

Input

  • Movement - Arrow Keys / Left Stick
  • Shoot - Hold Z / A
  • Bomb - Tap X / B
  • Focused Movement - Hold Left Shift / X
  • UI Select - Arrow Keys / Left Stick
  • UI Confirm - Z / Space / A
  • UI Cancel - ESC / RB

I tested with an Xbox One controller. I believe other controllers should work, but YMMV.

About

"星辰再生 ~ Rho's Odyssey" was made for the Bullet Hell Jam 5. The limitation was "consequences," and I tried to incorporate an overall "energy level" the player must be aware of throughout the game. (Comes into effect after the short level 1.) Shooting, bombing, and simply existing drains your power. When you run out, even with a ton of lives left, it's game over!

Install instructions

Windows

Unzip the zip file and run the .exe. Windows Defender will more than likely tell you that it is dangerous. If you trust me, just click the "more information" button, and "run anyway."

macOS

Unzip the zip file, and open the .dmg file. From there you can drag the application into your application folder (or folder of choice) and run it from there. Gatekeeper might not approve it being downloaded from Itch, so you might need to open settings, privacy / security, and give the application permission from there.

Linux

Probably going to run fine without any issues, because it's Linux! Woo!

Controllers

It should pick up on controllers perfectly fine. It might not like having a controller connected after starting the game, but having the controller ready and then starting the game should work fine.

Due to me being very lazy, muting (M) and fullscreen toggle (F) on the title screen is hardcoded to M and F (sorry not sorry).

Thank you for trying the game! :)
